Pictorial History of 1st Ballykelly Boys' Brigade
 thanks to Rev. David Browne (company  founder Chaplin) for his contributions.

The 1st company night of 1st Ballykelly BB was Monday 9th September 1974.  An extract of a newspaper article publisher the following :-  " ....  'Up to now there was nothing for the children of the village and I thought it would be good to start these two Christian organisations (BB and GB), ' said Mr. Browne.  The idea it to advance Christ's Kingdom among the boys, as well as meeting for the various activities. ...   "

The original officers were :-  Robins - Rev & Mrs. Browne, Mrs. Whiteside, Junior section - Rev. Browne and Miss Valerie Gault - Leader in charge.  Company Section - Rev. Brown (Acting Captain) and joint Chaplin with Rev. R.D. Moore, rector of Ballykelly Parish Church, Officers in company section - David Hamilton, William Hamilton, William Martin and Raymond Martin.

1st Enrolment Service (BB and GB combined) 19th January 1975

Held in Ballykelly Presbyterian Church Hall lead by Limavady Brass Band.  Because of the inclement weather a parade through the village was postponed.

1st Parade

The parade was lead by Limavady Silver Band to Tamlaghtfinlagan Parish Church. 80 boys paraded. Rev R. D. Moore conducted the service and the address given by Rev. J. Downey - Dungiven.
